The rise of 3D video
3D films are not as new an invention as you might think. Yes, it is only in this day and age that we are seeing them really take off for a mainstream audience but it was actually in the 1950’s that they were developed.
1950’s 3D films were really popular in America but generally overlooked by the rest of the world. They went through a bit of a revival in the early 1990’s thanks to the cinema chain IMAX. One of the signatures of the 3D movie experience is the horrifically unflattering 3D glasses that one must wear in order to view the film. These glasses have also evolved along with the 3D film industry. 3D movie making reached new heights a couple of years ago with the huge 3D blockbuster, Avatar.
Since the release of this, and other highly acclaimed 3D films, there has been much demand for 3D technology for the home.
Thus this brought on the release of 3D home theatre systems which meant that you could enjoy 3D movie screenings in your own armchair! At first 3D TVs were very highly priced to the exclusion of many. However, it has now been a couple of years since their release and they are a feature in many homes in this country.
What was next after the triumph of 3D TV? A 3D video camera of course! 2D cameras no longer hit the mark when it comes to home recording and 3D cameras are starting to take the world by storm in the same way that 3D TVs did just a short time ago. Ultimately, 3D will replace 2D and those with any sort of technical head know this. Why not be ahead of the game and ahead of your friends and purchase a state of the art 3d video recorder.
